5 Great Road Trip Apps

June 9th, 2016

Are you going on a road trip or taking your vehicle on vacation this summer?  If so, you'll definitely want to check out these 5 awesome road trip apps!

Waze

Waze is a crowd-sourced traffic and navigation app available for iPhone, Android, or Windows phones. It offers guided turn-by-turn directions as well as reports from other users on accidents, police traps, or any other hazards along the way, helping to give other users in the area a 'heads-up' about what's to come.

GasBuddy

GasBuddy is another crowd-sourced app that helps you find the cheapest gas in your area. Users update gas prices in real time so you know where to find the gas station near you with the lowest prices! Long road trips usually require filling up multiple times, so finding inexpensive gas is a must. The app is available for iPhone, Android and Windows phones.

Roadside America

Looking for roadside attractions to break up a long road trip? Roadside America is your source for the weirdest, strangest and downright silliest tourist attractions the US has to offer. Users can check out nearby attractions, search by name, zip code, or city, and filter through more than 70 categories. The app is only available on the iPhone, but they also have a great website that’s been around since 1994. After all, it’s not a road trip without at least one detour to a bizarre roadside attraction!

iExit

Will there be a Chick-Fil-A at the next exit? Do you have enough gas to wait until the next town? Is there a bathroom coming up any time soon? You’ll never have to ask these questions again with iExit! This app offers a directory of services and businesses within 1.5 miles of the next 100 exits you will pass. You can also search for a business name (like Chick-Fil-A) or an amenity (like pet-friendly). The app is available for iPhone and Android.

TVFoodMaps

Do you love shows like Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives? This app helps you find and plan trips around the restaurants you see on TV! You can search by show or location and can also get notifications sent to your phone when you’re near a featured restaurant. This app is available on iPhone and Android.
